the new books are in |
Dear
friend, relative or casual reader, as the case may be,
Last year at
this time my wife and I self-published a volume containing many of the stories
from this blogsite in book form.
Bluegills On a Fly Rod, the book, went
through multiple printings, amounting to literally dozens of copies, which were
snatched up by friends, family and acquaintances all across this great nation
of ours. The popular demand was so
satisfying that Kathy and I have been working on a second, companion volume to
our first book, covering the last year and a half of my blog activity. That project is now done and we are in
possession of the first printing of, High
Summer Trout.
If you
liked my first book you will love this second offering. High
Summer Trout contains140 pages of delightful fishing/devotional stories,
each beginning with a passage of scripture and ending with an observation on
fishing, family, friends and faith. It really is a nice looking book, and the
writing is pretty good, if I do say so myself. Several b&w illustrations are contained in the text and,
just as with our first book, the cover binding features a beautiful color rendition
of one of my wife’s stunning watercolor artworks.
The pricing
is the same as with my first book, $15 per copy, if you can afford it. While I have no desire to make a
substantial profit on this work, neither to I want to go in the hole. So I am asking all who make an order to
be considerate in this matter (checks may be made payable to Mark L.
Jarvie). While advance payment
with your order would be greatly appreciated, personal acquaintances may wait
and pay upon delivery of the book, if desired.
To order,
send your name, mailing address, and number of copies desired, along with
payment to me at the address shown above.
By the Way! If you also want a copy of our first
book, Bluegills On a Fly Rod, I have
a limited number of those available as well. Be sure to indicate which book, or how many of each, you
want on your order, as I would hate to send you something you already have or
do not want.
Thank you,
and blessings be upon you all,
Rev. Mark
L. Jarvie
